British Soccer Coach in America
From the land of Castles and football stars |
DO YOU FANCY THE U.S.As CHANCES AT THE 2002 WORLD CUP? HOW ABOUT THE 2006 WORLD CUP? OR 2010? 2014?
Do you know how the rest of the world views U.S. soccer? enthusiastic...but sadly lacking in skill, passion and tactically inferior... I want to change that image of U.S. Soccer for good. Yes. U.S. soccer has progressed greatly in the last four years, but the entire soccer coaching system needs to be overhauled. I am a British coach aiming to revolutionise the way American kids are taught soccer. By teaching them to play the game with their heart. It is almost true to say that British kids can play soccer (football as the rest of the world calls it) before they can walk. By the age of 7 or 8 they are practically eating, sleeping, breathing and LIVING for soccer. They have a distinct advantage. I want to redress that balance. Schoolchildren as young as 11 can be signed by professional clubs and are taught the professional way by the best in the business. If they are good enough. England International Michael Owen, is just 18 years of age and is already considered the best player on earth. Valued at a cool $48 Million and idolised by every teenager from Akkra to Zanzibar. The old football addage is if you are good enough, you are old enough. The U.S.A. has the potential to be the best, simply down to the size of population. Producing 22 top quality players should essentially be an easier task in the U.S.A than in the U.K. because you have four times the number of people living here in the U.S. | The world view of American Soccer
The truth and the benefits |
Your argument may be, but most kids get sidetracked by Baseball, Basketball, U.S. Football or Ice Hockey. Soccer is the only competition on earth where a team can be true World Champions. Why? Simply, because EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY ON EARTH HAS A NATIONAL SOCCER ASSOCIATION, and a National Team. No other sport can guarantee such worldwide popularity. No other sport can guarantee such fame for its stars. Wayne Gretzky, Shaquille O Neal and Babe Ruth may be the best of the best in the eyes of Americans. The rest of the world says WHO? Mention Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo and Owen to a person in Canada, Mozambique, Germany, New Zealand, Tibet, Japan or wherever you care to mention and theyll say...ahhh, great footballer. Ask those same people about Gretzky, O Neal or Ruth and they will think you are talking about the corner store cashier. Oh...and the money isnt bad either! The question is. What can I do for you? If I am gracious. The U.S.A. has a chance of reaching the knockout stages in 2002. Why only the knockout stages? The reason is simple. You are not producing players of a high enough standard to make any significant impact on the world game. The key is production. You can teach anyone to hustle, be agressive and kick a ball. Teaching technique, skill, manouvres, team-play, tactics and recognising ability can only come from a coach from a true footballing country. What better country than England? England is the home of football (soccer). The English Premiership is the worlds richest, toughest and most skilful league on earth. I can coach the vital positioning, timing and passing techniques which make the difference in key matches. As any professional soccer player will tell you. A key difference between an average player and an excellent player is CONFIDENCE. To be confident in yourself, you must find your niche in the side. The position you are most comfortable in. Quite often, it is a position that you never thought you would be good in. A good coach will identify a players strengths within two or three training sessions. I can do that. That is the key to a successful coach, a successful player and a happy and successful team. Football is about enjoyment, competitiveness and also about appreciation of your own body. It does require body awareness. To be the best, you need all those qualitites. I can give your child. The qualitites needed if they aspire to be the best... It does take time, patience, hard work and dedication but the benefits are there for all to see when all the hard work comes to fruition. If youd like your child to attend a coaching class held by myself and my associate and youd like your child to benefit from English coaching experience then email me.
